Tiling
I have been posting sporadically, as I am keeping myself busy with work. I am still working on the bathroom tiling project, which is slow in progressing, but coming along. Here is a patch with some grout:
So pretty! If I wasn't doing this, I would be up to my eye-balls in boxes at the studio...oh, that's tomorow's job.
Weekend...
Boy, what a weekend. Can I have another weekend to rest?
On Saturday, I helped out Jean Rene at La Maison de le Culture in Gatineau for his Mozaic UV. Along with a bunch of other artists, we did body painting and Jean photgraphed it under UV light. Here is his promo poster for it. I didn't get in the group shot because I had to leave :( The shoot for this will take place on April 23. It is very cool. I think Jean is building a web page for this so maybe soon there will be a link with more info.
Then there was the Big Move:
Studio
Inside
I was like these two cute cats today, getting lots of things done inside. Sometimes I get antsy being indoors too long, so I did manage to go out to the post office and get some produce in the afternoon. I've got a busy week ahead of more blue tiling and then paiting at gallery 101 for the new installation coming in. So much to do!
Cute
I had to buy these funny matches the other day at Home Hardware of all places. I think its funny that health activities are being promoted on a book of matches...maybe you're supposed to take them camping, definitely not for smoking.
I got this sweet yellow sweater at the Value Village sale. I needed to add some colour to my wardrobe..and you can't beat the cuteness of the tag.
Mosaic
T and P
It got a bit out of control on the weekend, taking pictures of paper Tania and Paul. I am now working on a small book that I will send to them as a souvenir of the trip that 'didn't happen'. It sure gave me something fun and silly to play around with on the weekend.
There's still time left...50% off at Value Village today only. Most stores open till 9:00pm. I fetched myself (almost) a new wardrobe. Beware of long line-ups for the change room. Practice Patience. Its worth it.
Tania and Paul
Tania and Paul couldn't come to visit this weekend, but Tania sent paper Tania and Paul in their place. How sweet! They came in the mail yesterday, in a tiny envelope and the stamp wasn't even stamped. Paper Tania and Paul will have a fun weekend in Ottawa.
Studio
Yay!
I GOT A STUDIO SPACE TODAY!!! Its a 6 month sublet at the EBA building. I am very excited to get all my art stuff in a big spacy-space. I was so excited about it, I didn't even take any pictures. How un-like me. I'm sure there will be plenty of pictures to be taken when I move in next month :)

Trip
I had a really good trip to Toronto.
(my car isn't red, I just thought it would be fun to make the drawing red)
The traffic was fine:
The weather was good:
I ate pizza:
I saw some art: Anthony Koutras at Gallery 44 Windows. I love dryer lint too!
I don't know her name, but some gal covered a room at the Gladstone with granny squares for the 'Come Up To My Room' installations.
Installation at Mercer Union, By BLG Besoin de Croire. Very cool.
Anonymous street art. yay! I did not do this. Wish I had :)
I put up some art:
Hung out with my friends:
Why didn't I take pictures at the dim-sum with Tania and friends?...Delicious...Nor did I take any picutres at the Interior Design Show ...I met Ruth Adler and it was nice to see a lot of mosaic stuff, as I recently got commisioned to do a customer's bathroom floor. It must a trendy thing right now. I got interviewed by Sarah Lazarovik who is doing a documentary short for the NFB (National Film Board). I am the 'mitten collecting expert'. Will be aired on Newsworld in April on Rough Cuts. Sometimes going to Toronto is overstimulating, so much to see, so many great friends to spend time with...Now I am back in snowy Ottawa contemplating whether I should go skating or take a nap. I need a vacation after my vacation.
Flowers
I put up a little installation today, outside the Loomis and Toles on Bank St. I used some of the promo cards for my show at the Helsinki. A scaffolding has been set up and I thought it needed a little cheering up. 12 little flowers for 12 cross bars. Especially for those people waiting for the bus. And to chase the February Blahs.
I am off to Toronto for the weekend to deliver a custom order and go to the interior design show. Eye Candy!
Writing
(yes, this could be fun, its like writing notes, ooh, I think I just came up with 10 ideas, but they'll have wait...)

More Art
Yesterday I went to Venus Envy to check out my friend Tiffany Teske's sexy polaroidtransfers. Lovely!
On Friday, I saw Phil Rose's light boxes at Dale Smith Gallery.
Ah, so much art, so little time...
Winterlude
This is the first weekend of winterlude and I went out to have some fun. I stopped by Lana's photography at Art on Ice. I like that she has an image of John Ceprano's rock art. It was such a beautiful day, I had to put on sunscreen.
